John and Benita Metcalf were both saved as a result of Saturday Morning Soul-Winning efforts.  Pictured with John and Benita are six of their seven children: Joshua, Jamin, Jesse, Juliana, Julsa, and Jenna.  Their oldest son, John Jr., is married and has given them their first Grand-child.  God called John to reach the Soldiers of Fort Hood with the Gospel Message of our Lord.  He served our country in the US Air Force, so he knows first-hand the importance of reaching the men and women of our military; especially now with all the deployments in and out of Fort Hood.

Like the State of Texas, Fort Hood is big, and boasts of being the largest active duty military post in the United States Armed Forces.  Fort Hood covers a total of 339-square miles and is the only post in the United States that supports two Mechanized Heavy Armored Divisions, affectionately known as "America's Hammer" - The 1st Cavalry Division & The 4th Infantry Division (the 4th I.D. is credited for the capture of Saddam Hussein).  It is home to more than 50,000 Soldiers, and some 30,000 family members.

Fort Hood serves as residence for:

- Headquarters Command, III Armored Corps

- 1st Cavalry Division

- 4th Infantry Division

- 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary)

- 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment

- 3rd Signal Brigade

- 13th Finance Group

- 3rd Personnel Group

- 3rd Brigade, 1st Armored Division

- 89th Military Police Brigade

- 504th Military Intelligence Brigade

- 3rd Air Support Operations Group

- Operational Test Command

- 21st Cavalry Brigade (Air Combat)

- C.R. Darnall Army Medical Center

- Dental Activity (DENTAC)

- Various other units and tenant organizations

Fort Hood meets the training and support requirements of these units and organizations, thus maintaining a vital defense force for the United States; successfully supporting it's Global War on Terrorism.

Charity Baptist Church is a body of believers who are very familiar with the military service.  We have members who are both currently active duty and former active duty, so we realize the importance of reaching our Soldiers for Christ.  Please pray with us that the Lord will soon provide a facility that would serve as a haven for our Soldiers to come and grow in their walk with the Lord.
